This project was my very first infographic involvement in the Times of Oman and  Al Shabiba also my first introduction to making an information graphic.
Bullfighting is a famous and ancient sport in Oman and It was an interesting subject because unlike the Spanish-style bullfighting (man versus animal) this one is non-violent and non-fatalistic. It is more of a ritual- a show of force and fighting style than a blood sport.
My key role in this project was the central illustration and the supporting drawings. To fully understand this ancient sport, we had to attend one of the fights and see for ourselves how this sport works. We interviewed the bull owners, bull keepers, the organizers, and some of the audiences. To document all our works we took photos and videos and later on transcribed the materials. At the latter stage of this project, the team tackled the delicate task of translating the page into an Arabic version for Al Shabiba newspaper. This part always requires very careful attention because sometimes when flipping a whole page some details can get lost or ruined.

All the illustrations were drawn in pencil and later edited in Photoshop. This medium adds character to the page and sets the tone of this graphic.
